Moses

OK - this looks a little like Moses from behind - pointing towards the Heavens with the 10 Commandments in his right hand...

Funny Looking Forest

Funny Looking Forest

We were at Hobby Lobby today - they've got Christmas trees up already.  OK - I can understand hobby stuff to make stuff for Christmas - but trees?  And what are these funny colored trees about?

Pain in the...

Owe!!
I had twisted my knee about a month ago and I thought it would just "get better".  Well - it didn't so I was lectured by my daughters and ratted out by my spouse (to the doctor) who made me confess to all my ailments when I went in to his office this morning.

He started with the knee - moving it and twisting it, and asking "Does this hurt?"  I don't think he saw my expression because he would have known - YES IT HURTS!!!

He talked me into a shot of cortisone.  He stuck me once - And, I thought that wasn't bad hardly felt it - then he started filling another syringe - I asked him, "Two?"  He told me the first one was just to numb up my knee - I asked my daughter who is a nurse about the numbing it before the shot and she just said, "Dad, you don't want to know."

Another One?
The entire episode was a victory for me because if it's a needle and you call it a shot I pass out.  I thought perhaps if I kept my mind busy I could keep from fainting - so I took photos and checked my Facebook Account - must have worked 'cause I didn't pass out - a little dizzy now so I'll end this post....

Granddaughters

Granddaughters are good to have around - they wait on me, make me laugh, and even wash my car.

Baby Pine Cones

I think there is a spider hiding in the shadows - tried to encourage him (or her) to come out, but evidently they were shy..

Chipmunk

I watched this little guy "chow down" from the top and keep it all in his cheeks.  He did the entire cob in 2 trips....

College Hill Arts Festival

I was volunteering at the Cedar Valley Chamber Music Festival Booth at the College Hill Arts Festival and took this photo of the booth right in front of where I was sitting.  There were a lot of exhibitors.  I talked to one Photographer who was exhibiting and he indicated that he paid over $30k a year in Exhibition Fees - guess I can take that venue off my list.  I assume he's making money because (1) he's still at it, (2) he does his own matting and framing, and (3) does his own printing with 2 Epson 44 inch printers (about 5k a piece).  Again - I need to look at other venues to sell my photographs...

An Inspired Sermon

While I was having my oil changed this morning this priest (or minister) came into the waiting area and started writing.  I imagined he was preparing a sermon so this is an appropriate effect...

Eating Left Overs

The squirrels are sloppy eaters, but it appears that the bunny rabbits don't mind left overs.

Lightening Bug

They're cute when they are flashing about the yard - up close and personal - not so much.  Click on the photo to get the full effect.

Rose Breasted Grossbeak

At the Linn Area Photo Club today we had Tameron Representatives come and give a presentation on their lenses.  We had an opportunity to "check-out" and "Check-out" a variety of lenses.  This one was taken with a Tameron 500mm.  They had Macro Lenses, Telephoto, Zoom - just about everything they make - and multiple lenses with both Canon and Nikon Mounts.   There were 2 studios set up (with Models) to try a variety of portrait lenses and lighting equipment.  Now all I need is an extra $20,000.
