Late Post for June 5th

Thanks to a cable company and a telephone company who seem to be unable to communicate I was without my internet AND MY BACKUP for a day...so I missed my first post in 3 years.  I say (and so does the guy at the left) nuts!!!

Speaking of nuts...  The tall and sturdy oak tree in the forest is no more than a little nut which stood his ground...

Almost forgot it was Monday and needed to get a post done.  The "little firecracker" AKA Daniel took a spill in the yard.  He recovered quickly and was off at the only speed he knows - fast...!

Ok...technically I didn't take the photograph.  Fr. Mitch took the picture with my camera.  His wife, Denise is also a connoisseur of hats, and she arrived at church this morning wearing close to the same hat I was wearing.  

It was a Kodak moment so Fr. Mitch offered to take the photo.

It's been a while since I've had time (and good weather) to take a photo of a sunrise.  I was up at 4:55 AM and decided I'd get out early and take some a photo of a sunrise.  Took some other good ones today too...the next photo was taken at the Hawkeye Arboretum.

Old Barn

There is an old barn across the street from the Church which has been in a state of disrepair for several years.  I would drive over the top of the hill headed towards the church and wonder if this was the day it would fall down.  Today was that day - actually last night was the night.  We had a pretty strong set of storms go through and the barn succumbed to the years.

Time Lapse

Many, Many, Many photographs this weekend.  I went to the Memorial Day festivities and got some good shots, but spent most of my time on a time lapse series - took a photo an hour for the last day and half and got some good results on a flower opening and made an iPhoto slide show, but since they don't play well with other I'm having difficulties getting into a format where the music works as well so I can get it to YouTube and then on my Blog - I'll get it.  In the mean time here is a sneak peek...
