It seems I always have a camera with me (in the event an alien lands on my hood) and while I was wondering around the church the light hit this window just right to illuminate it with some magnificent color.

This and That

Our Church, Trinity Episcopal Church in Waterloo, had (or is having) a "This and That" rummage sale. Part of the sale is selling raffle tickets (with a state permit) to win a fully furnished doll house. I don't know who wants to win it more - the mothers - or the daughters...


One lady donated the house and others furnished a room.


Note the eager eye of a young lady in the window. Actually - it's my granddaughter and I coerced her into looking into the house through the window.

There is a tree behind Trinity Episcopal Parish which we have called "Trini-tree". The parish has watched this tree grow over time -and, die over time. Kind of mirrors life...

Fat Tuesday

My Church, Trinity Episcopal Parish, in Waterloo, Iowa, flew in 100 lbs of Louisiana crayfish to celebrate Fat Tuesday. Our standard fare for years has been pancakes and this year one of our youth suggested something different. It was a Fat Tuesday celebration (minus the debauchery found on Bourbon street in New Orleans!!)

Pipe Organ

This is a photo of the pipe organ in our church, Trinity Episcopal Parish. I'm sure there is a colorful history that goes along with the instrument, but I'm not familiar with the story. I'll have to ask... In the mean time enjoy the photo. It's an old organ so I used an "antique browning" to convey that in the photo. The photo below is the original (before I played with it in Lightroom2).




















Oh no...that's 2 days in a row I posted 2 pictures for the "photo" of the day. It's OK today though 'cause technically it's the same photo - just different effects. At any rate enjoy...
