Robert-It looks like the bud of a bachelor's button (or cornflower.) They come in pink, purple, and white, but the blue is just a gorgeous bright color. (Did you mess with the color!!??) It looks like the hardy variety that comes up as a perennial, but they can also be grown from seed. Did Thurston plant it?
