My wife runs the gift shop at the Grout Museum in Waterloo. She had to work late last night for a Museum School so my daughter-in-law and I went in to keep her company. As I was leaving work last night there was a gorgeous sunset. The view wasn't quite right so I began to chase the sunset - 5 miles later I took this photo. It wasn't quite what I wanted - maybe I'll start earlier today and chase the sun again. (Click on the photo for a larger view of the image).

Traffic gurus have posted a"road closed" sign complete with the normal orange barriers indicating that the road is closed. Add a snow barrier to that and the message becomes...HEY...ROAD IS CLOSED!!
I was up at 5:00 am and thought I'd go on a photo shoot. Here is the first sunrise of 2009 over Waterloo, Iowa. And, this begins my journey of a photo a day for 365 days. I really hope I can hang in there...enjoy!!
After graduating from High School in May 1969 and while attending College I received my draft notice for the U. S. Army. Not caring for the color green I chose to follow in my Uncle’s footsteps and I joined the U. S. Navy in January 1971...30 years later...
