Red Rooster Cafe
I recently had my 45th class reunion. I graduated in 1969 from Iowa Falls High School.
The Red Rooster Café was a place I visited frequently as I was growing up in the 1960s. Most of my visits were in the middle of the night before I went home - some of my visits were with my folks and some were for breakfast before I went to work.
I nearly died here when a piece of chicken got caught in my throat, but thanks to my mothers quick reaction I survived.
This café has burned twice that I know of - maybe more. At any rate was glad to see it still standing and of course we had to eat there. It looks the same, smells the same - and I swear some of the same people were eating there, although a bit older.
