Coffee Pot

We love our coffee!! The downside being we go through a lot of coffee pots. We had a Bun for awhile, but it finally died after years of loyal service. We've had subsequent pots and either they poured poorly or had other issues - like dripping slowly or burning up. This is our recent acquisition - a percolator. The sound takes me back to my childhood and the smell is glorious. One question - why do they only give you a 6 inch cord?

  1. I too grew up listening to that percolator in the kitchen - kind of like that old coffee commercial that had the music playing in time with the percolating!

Great photo and timing is perfect as I've been contemplating for the last hour whether to make a fast drip cup of coffee or go out to the local convenience store and purchase one of their terrific-tasting cups of coffee....decisions, decisions - we don't own a percolator and I think I'm missing out...

  2. My parents had a percolator; and one of my friends prefers it instead of a coffee maker. Another friend likes to use a french press, says it's the best for capturing more of the coffee flavor. We have a simple Mr. Coffee. I love the smell of coffee brewing. Also have a 42 cup party perk, which comes in handy for groups. It has a short cord too. You know, those safety concerns.

  3. I know the sound and smell you are talking about Robert. My parents brewed their coffee in one of these while I was growing up. I think my dad still has it!

  4. It appears most of us remember the sound of the ole percolator... my memories are of my gramma's house and the sound of the percolator. We have a new Bun and so far it has been working wonderfully! But my coffee of choice is Panera's hazelnut brew... yummy!!

  5. Oh I forgot to tell you, I love the shot you took too!! :) B&W was a perfect choice and so was the vignette, gives it that old-timey feel.

  6. Great photo Robert. Some people swear by the coffee from the percolator. I am not a coffee person myself, but love your photo!!
